Contractors or Job-Seekers

From the header menu, select “Search Jobs” from the drop down list under “Jobs”. In the search bar, you may add any keywords. You may also select the “+” or “select filer” to add additional filter criteria, such as expertise or minimum educational level. Clicking into the fields for those filters will provide further options for narrowing search results.
NOTE: In order to apply for a job, your profile must be complete and your Stripe account must be verified.

Every job posting in the search results has an “apply” button. Note that your contractor profile will need to be complete in every attribute except location, language, interested job type, and remote/in-person preferences and your Stripe account will need to be connected in order to apply.

After you have completed your profile and connected your Stripe account, clicking the “apply” button will take you to an application page. There, you can describe your services, add deliverables, and use the messaging feature to ask questions about the job, and attach supporting documentation using the messaging function.

For fixed price projects, select “individual deliverable”. For hourly projects or part-time positions, select “recurring deliverable”. Job postings for full-time W-2 placements do not require deliverables in the job proposal. Select “submit proposal” when you are ready to send it to the client. Every proposal requires the “Description” field is complete in order to submit.
NOTE: In order to apply for a job, your profile must be complete and your Stripe account must be verified.

Our payment provider is Stripe. Below is the payment flow when using Stripe:

Individual Milestones (fixed price projects)

  1. Client clicks ‘Pay’. The funds go into escrow
  2. A payment is charged to the Client’s card or bank account on file for the Milestone cost + any tax + the QueSights commission when a milestone is approved.
  3. Within Stripe, the Quesights commission is deducted, then the remainder is transferred to the Contractor’s Stripe Connected Account. The marketplace has control over the funds at this stage and can issue a refund up until the moment when the Client initiates a manual payout.
  4. Client clicks ‘Approve’ on a milestone. This triggers the manual payout of funds within Stripe for the contractor’s payment to be released.
  5. Stripe pays out the funds relating to that milestone to the Contractor’s bank account.

Repeating Milestones (hourly projects)

  1. On every Sunday 11 PM UTC, the current cycle ends, and the Client is emailed the number of hours that the Contractor has submitted for that cycle. Between Sunday 11 PM UTC and the following Friday 11 PM UTC the Client has the ability to dispute the work done, which places the payment flow on hold. The QueSights admin must choose whether to accept or reject the dispute and consequently allow or stop the flow of funds.
  2. If there is no hold, on Friday 11 PM UTC, the Client is automatically charged the invoice total, based on the number of hours submitted. Within Stripe, the Commission is deducted, and then the remainder is transferred to the Freelancer’s Stripe Connected Account.
  3. Immediately after the transfer, Stripe pays out the funds relating to that milestone to the Contractor’s bank account.

Notes on timing:

  • It can take up to 7 days for Stripe to process the Customer’s initial payment.
  • Once a Payout to the Freelancer’s bank account has been approved, the funds should arrive the same day. In rare cases, it can take up to 5 working days to arrive.
  • Stripe will hold funds in the account holder’s balance (freelancer’s connected Stripe account) until told to pay them out for up to 90 days. The exception to this is in the US where funds can be held for 2 years. Milestones should not have a deadline more than 90 days from the payment deposit date.

There is no recurring fee. QueSights keeps 12% of each milestone payment to the Contractor. QueSights is paid 12.5% of the total salary compensation by the Client for any W-2 or 1099 hires.

Contractors can have multiple projects at once.

Each job posting has a messaging section that can be used to send inquires to the Client who posted the project or job.

Projects: As soon as an offer has been made and accepted, the poster should hit the “start contract” button irrespective of when the work will be done. This informs us and triggers messages to all other applicants that the job has been filled.

FT Hires: As soon as offer has been made and accepted, the poster should send a copy of the offer letter to [email protected] that contains: salary, terms, and start date. We’ll hit start contract at our end. This triggers messages to all other applicants that the job has been filled.

The hiring company pays a commission of 12.5% of the first year’s salary for a full-time hire, half of the traditional headhunter fee. Placement commissions are billed 30 days after the resource’s first day of employment. Our warranty on the resource is 90 days from the first day of employment; should you let the new hire go for cause or the new hire quits, we will repost the same job at no charge (even if the replacement’s salary is higher than the salary originally commissioned). The commission is billed to the client directly, not through the platform.

If the position is a temporary full-time role of less than one year, the commission would be 12.5% of the salary to be paid during the period. For example, if the position pays $10,000 per month and the term of employment is five months, the commission would be $6,250 (12.% of $50,000). If the placement is extended beyond the initial period, the additional commission owed is based on the additional time of the extension up to 12 months in total.
